The International Short Course is an event held by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in October 2023. The theme of this 4th ISC is Islamic Digital Finance, Cybersecurity, and Data Protection. This event certainly presents speakers who are qualified in their fields.

In 5 days we were given the opportunity to learn about many new things in the world of global economics through speakers who were of course experts in their respective fields. They are Rama Yunindra (CEO of Purwantara, General Treasure of AFSI), Prof. Dr. Phil. Sahiron, S.Ag., M.A (Vice Rector II UIN Sunan Kaliijaga Yogyakarya), Tuhu Nugraha (Executive Director of Indonesia Blockchain and Metaverse Center), Dr. Abdul Qoyyum (Head of Department, Sharia Economics UIN Sunan Kalijaga), Christopher Cason (University of Washington USA), Edhie Purnawan, M.A., Ph.D (Head of Bank Indonesia Supervision Board 2020-2023), Advento Silaban S.H., LL.M . (Digital Analysis at Digital Financial Innovation Group, Financial Services Authority), M. Andri Setiawan S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D (Head of Informatics System Board, UII), Prof. Abu Bakar Munir, LL.B., LL.M (University of Malaya, Malaysia), and Adrian Coen (Academic Writing Skill Enchasement Expert, United Kingdom). This event was held in a hybrid manner.

As a master's student whose research concerns are CBDC (Central Bank Digital Transformation), I really got a lot of insight regarding this matter. Learn how financial transformation with blockchain will be in the global world in the future. Moreover, Indonesia has planned to launch a Rupiah CBDC this year. This is an important material to support much future research.

I am very grateful to be one of the selected participants because I can learn directly from sources related to this field. Another thing to be grateful for is being able to meet and share a lot of information with international students from several countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Gambia, Sierre Leone, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Bangladesh.

The event was very useful and exciting. Hopefully the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business can continue to carry out activities like this.
